Flooding issue comments

The Special Volume on Flooding released by Journal of Earth Science provides novel methods, geographic comparisons and data sets that let human to recognize the nature rule of flooding and incriminate many prevailing misconceptions. The Special Volume is generating great public attention, especially the cover paper “River Management and Flooding: The Lesson of December 2015–January 2016, Central USA” written by Robert Criss, professor of earth and planetary sciences in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis. More than over 5000 download were done in a short time. The cover figure shows the new Valley Park levee was nearly overtopped and the protected area was evacuated.
