An Analysis of Groundwater in Sinjar Plain (Northwest of Iraq) Using WQI Model

摘要:
Sinjarplain~northwestIraqhasanabundantamountofgroundwater.Duetotheimportanceofthiswatersource,thewaterqualityindex(WQI)modelwasusedintheclassificationofgroundwaterinthewesternandeasternregionsofSinjarplainforbeneficialuse.GroundwatersampleswerechemicallyanalyzedtocalculatethevaluesofWQI.Thismodelconsistsofasinglenumberoftheintegrateddeviationfromstandardquality,whichindicatestherelativeimportanceofeachrelevantvariableforbeneficialuse.TheresultsindicatethattheWQIcouldbeusedtodeterminetheparticularusesofgroundwater.ThegroundwaterintheSinjarplainismoresuitableforirrigationthanitisforlivestockdrinkinganddomesticuse.

摘要:
Miningactivitieshavecreatedhugeuncoveredslopes,largeareasofganguegroundandextensivetailingsdams.ThispaperpresentstheenvironmentalgeochemistryofminingactivitiesinPanzhihuaregion.Theselectedelements(Ti,V,Mo,Ni,Pb,Cu)showsimilardistributionpatternsofconcentrationanomalyintopsoil.TheseconcentrationanomaliesarelocatedinV~Ti~magnetiteslope,ganguesdamandcoalmine.Thedistinctionbetweenanthropogeniccontaminationandnaturalbackgroundismadeavailablebytheuseoftheenrichmentfactorinthisstudyarea.TheanomaliesofEFweresmallerthanthatofconcentration.TheresultsfromEFshowthattheselectedelementsanthropogenicpollution(EF>1)intopsoilwerelocatedinboththecoalminingareaandtheV~Ti~magnetiteminingarea.Inaddition,thepollutionsourcesofselectedelementscamefromV~Ti~magnetite,slag,gangues,coalandotherpollutantsfromminingactivities.

Thispaperpresentsanewtypeofbaseisolationsystem,i.e.,slide~limitedfriction(S~LF)baseisolationsystem.Basedonthissystem,theharmonicandsubharmonicperiodicresponseofS~LFsubjectedtoharmonicmotionsisinvestigatedbyusingFourier~Galerkin~Newton(FGN)methodwithFloquettheory.ThedynamicresponseofS~LFsubjectedtoearthquakegroundmotionsiscalculatedwithahighorderprecisiondirectintegrationmethod,andthenumericalresultsarepresentedinmaximumaccelerationresponsespectraofsuperstructureandmaximumslidingdisplacementresponsespectrumform.ThecomparisonofisolatingeffectsofS~LF,pure~frictionbaseisolationsystem(P~F)andresilientfrictionbaseisolationsystem(R~FBI)showsthattheisolatingpropertyofS~LFissuperiortothoseofP~FandR~FBI.Finallybyanalyzinganengineeringexample,itisobservedthatthedistributionofthemaximumshearbetweenfloorsandabsoluteaccelerationofS~LFtoearthquakegroundmotionisverydifferentfromthatoftraditionalstructures.

Thispaperintroducesmodeltestresultsofwaterpressureinafault,whichislocatedinaslopeandin16differentconditions.Theresultsshowthatthewaterpressuresinfaultcanbeexpressedbyalinearfunction,whichissimilartothetheoreticalmodelsuggestedbyHoek.Factorsaffectingwaterpressuresarewaterlevelintensioncrack,dipangleoffault,theheightoffillingmaterials,andthicknessoffaultzoneinsequence.

Basedontheprincipleoftunnedmassdamper(TMD),themethodofusinglaminatedrubberbearing(LRB)toconnectTMDwithstructureisdiscussedinthispaper.ThisisanewtypeofTMDsystem~suspendedstructure.Totestitsfunctionofquake~reductionanditspossibilityofapplication,thispaperexploresthesuspendedtopfloorthroughshakingtabletest.Inthemodeltest,anelector~hydraulicshakingtablewasused.Themainstructuremodelwasafour~storysteelframestructure.Theblocktocombatthestructuralquakewasaconcreteblock.LRBwasusedtoconnecttheblocktothemainstructure.InordertoanalyzetheefficiencyofTMD,thefundamentalfrequenciesofthemainstructureandblockofTMDweremeasuredseparatelyfirst.Thenthefrequenciesofthemainstructurewiththeblockandwithouttheblockwerecomparedrespectivelyundersineandimitativequakewaves.Thetestshowsthatthisnew~typeTMDsystemiseffectiveincombatingthestructuralquakeoftenreducingtheaccelerationofthetopfloorbymorethan25%.Becauseoftheeasyavailabilityofthemethod,itisendowedwithpracticalfeasibility

ThispaperpresentsapreliminarysummaryoftheappliedsequencestratigraphyinnonmarinebasinsinChina.Thegeologicalandthegeophysicaldatashowthatthenonmarinesequencesresultedmainlyfrombothallocyclicandautocyclicprocesseswherethemostimportantfactorswereisolatedtectonicsandclimate.However,theenvironmentalfactorshouldhavebeencrucial.Thedepositionalbaselevelservedasthesealevelinthemarineenvironment,whilethewatertable,lakelevelandfluvialequilibriumwereprofiledinaterrigenousenvironment.Thisaccommodationvariedperiodicallywiththebaselevel,resultingintheformationofaseriesofdepositionalsequencesintermsofgenesisandspace.Basically,thebaseleveloftheinnercontinentwasnotaffectedbythechangesintherelativesealevel.Buttherewouldhavebeensomerelationsbetweenthechangeintherelativesealevelandthatinthecontinentalbaselevelduringeustacyflooding.However,asmalltimelagexistedbetweenthechangeinthemarinebasinandthatintheinnercontinentbasin.Thelakebasinissmallerthanthemarinebasin,butitsvelocityofsedimentsupplyisgreaterthanthatofthemarinebasin,therefore,thenumberofnonmarinesequencesisgreaterthanthatofmarineonesinthesameperiod.Itisimportanttorecognizethesystemtractsforthestudyofhigh~precisionorhigh~resolutionsequencestratigraphy,especiallytoanalyzethelow~standsystemstractwithitsdepositionalsystem.Thesequenceboundaryisgeneticallycharacterizedbysubaerialexposure,stratigraphictruncationandsubaqueouserosion.ThedepositionanalysisofZhanhuadepressionreveals5sequencearchitectures:alluvial~fluvial/lacustrinearchitecture,transitionalarchitectureformedbetweenhaline(mesohaline)lakeandfreshlake,marineduration~deeplacustrinearchitecture,halfdeeplacustrine~ramparchitectureandfluvial~alluvialplainarchitecture.Duringthemajordevelopmentofthenonmarinebasin,thestep~faultingbreakscontrolledthedepositionalsystem.Usually,thelow~standcomplexfan,progradingwedgeandhigh~standturbidityfanwereclosetothethirdsteppingbreak.Inthelow~standperiodthesedimentswentaroundtheincisedvalleyswhichthenwerefilledwithsandbarnearthe

BasedonthemodelsdevelopedbyLerche(1984)andPangetal.(1993),animprovedmodelforcalculatingpaleoheatflowintobasinsisinvestigated.Thenewmodelisanoptimizationproblemwiththestatevariablesgovernedbyathermalconductionequation.Ageneticalgorithmisusedtosolvethehighlynonlinearoptimizationproblem.Asanapplication,themodelisappliedtotheresearchintothehistoryofheatflowinthePearlRiverMouthbasinlocatedintheSouthChinaSea.Thenumericalanalysisshowsthatthesimulationresultsareingoodagreementwiththemeasureddataandindicatesthatthebasinmayhaveundergonethreeriftingandthermalevents.ItisalsodemonstratedthatahighRogradientreflectsaresponsetohighpaleoheatflowduringtheearly,rapidsubsidencestage,whilealowRogradientisaresultofthethermaldecayduringthethermalsubsidencebecauseofthermalcontractionofacoolinglithosphere.
